Well, doesn't look as if there's a huge amount of activity, but I presume that's to be expected. Dortmund isn't exactly the most internationally supported club out there, despite some of the success they've had. Funnily enough, I was in uganda, and saw more Dortmund jersey's walking through the streets of Kampala then I would walking through the streets of Dortmund. Funny experience really, felt at home considering I was wearing one myself.
It's nice to know, however, that there is an english language forum on here, because god knows, I'm sure a lot better at posting in English then I am in German.

I speak English I have seen NO BVB fans here in Vancouver/Victoria, Canada. Some Schalke (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ) and a bunch of people wearing Bayern München, but I doubt they are true fans!

And don't worry, my German sucks too!

Hello, I already created a welcome thread but I will say hello again here. I am a BVB supporter from Arizona. I know of a handful of US Dortmund supporters. It would help with more English speaking forums or at least an english speaking section to a BVB forum. Nice to meet everyone!

Anybody travel to Dortmund to see a match? I will get to see my first 2 live matches this September. I get to see them play Wolfsburg and Kaiserlautern along with possibly getting to see them play away at Schalke during my birthday weekend.

I mentioned I was jealous that you were going to see wolfsburg, but now even more so. Schalke vs Dortmund is always an immense game, even if in recent years the scoreline hasn't really been in our favour
You know Dortmund fans in the US? I thought you were all too obsessed with your silly handegg that you run around with up there :P Ask most people from Ireland anything about German football, and you're only going to hear about Munich. Even from the older fans, which is a surprise considering you'd think at least some of them would remember a little bit about that champions league we won in 1997.

As for patricks post, couldn't agree more. They're like the Manchester United of German football, if they stopped winning, their fanbase would drop massively, and probably end up in the region of about 20,000, if not less.

I love Éire! The people, the landscape, Guinness... ah, i have to travel to Éire again.

Maybe we could meet in Dortmund. Several of us meet at "Flora" before the game. For Smalltalk, Laughing, Drinking a beer oder Cola... It´s fair to say, we are a group of friends. ;-)

I would enjoy meeting up before hand. I have a friend going to university in Dortmund and he is helping me out with the tickets. It appears I will be in the sudtribune for both home matches. It isn't a guarantee of course for Schalke but i am crossing my fingers.

I actually don't mind Bayern continuing to win it's share of games as at this moment, they might be the only German club that can do something when it comes to the high spotlight of the Champions League. Through their success, you might have some more glory hunting supporters but you might have new Bundesliga followers who will start to watch more and more matches. They will find out how Bayern isn't that worth it to support and who knows who they might become a supporter.

If it wasn't for Bayern Munich and Liverpool back in early 80's, I might not have started to follow European football clubs. Thankfully, I found my way and I knew neither of those clubs were for me.

I support Everton and obviously Dortmund.

There are tons of Americans that love this sport. Many get up early each weekend to watch mostly the English Premier League as it is more accessible on tv being seen on 3 tv channels over here. The Bundesliga is only on 2 channels and both of them are Spanish speaking channels where I live. I don't mind though as I don't need to understand the announcers.

That sounds cool to possibly meet before match. I only drink sprite or 7up these days as I gave up alcohol. Your english is better than you think. I definitely look forward to chatting more as the season gets closer.

I am alittle nervous as I am sometimes a good luck charm and IF we defeat Schalke, I might be expected to come back to Germany for every Schalke match.

Would that be a source of great pain for you? I'd definitely head down to every Schalke game. Just need to make sure that your mate funds the flights and tickets. Otherwise you'd be leaving a bit of a dent on your back pocket, and lets be fair, who wants to spend their own money when they can be spending somebody elses

I have it all planned. I will win the lottery and not just your average 1 million dollar lottery but one of those "WOW, that tattooed guy won a HUGE amount of money" type of lotteries!

I'll see you all in Berlin.
DFB Pokal final: Borussia Dortmund vs. FC Koln.

The first match day is very interesting. Dortmund must be playing against a team I don't like. It would be great to see five goals from Wunderbar(rios):

    Recap:

    arrivals
    - Lukasz Piszczek (Hertha BSC Berlin)
    - Michael Langerak (Melbourne Victory) 450.000£
    - Robert Lewandowski (Lech Poznan) 4.050.000£
    - Shinji Kagawa (Cerezo Osaka) 315.000£
    - Johannes Focher (Dortmund Reserve)
    - Florian Kringe (was on loan / Hertha BSC Berlin)

    departures

    - Bajram Sadrisaj (unknown)
    - Tinga (Sport Club Internacional)
    - Marc Ziegler (VfB Stuttgart) 270.000£
    - Uwe Hünemeier (Energie Cottbus) 90.000£
    - Julian Koch (is on loan / MSV Duisburg)

( I have summarise ALL transfers of the bundesliga, but here is only Dortmund)

Results haven't been the best yet, but we'll be able to judge better once the season actually comes around.

You want to gather momentum in the pre-season, but even if you lose every game 5-0, you still have the same chance to win the league as you did beforehand.

I'm going to have to see them play before I can judge on that :P

They're playing Manchester City on wednesday, so that should be the first real test. Also being shown on TV, so I'll have a better perception of how the team is doing after that one.

I can't wait to pick up the new home and away trikot when I get over there in September for the various matches I am attending.

Getting excited I am for the beginning of the season.

I've got none of the new ones. But I suppose last seasons will do the job
Especially when it doesn't look like I'm going to be watching any live Games any time soon :\ Lets just hope Dortmund make the Europa League final, and then they can make the Long journey out to Ireland, rather then me doing it the other way round again
