Hallo ! I registered on your board to know if I could "interview" some Borussia fans about your team and ... Kuba and how to proceed to do it. I get a website about polish football in french (Polskafoot) and I want to publish all your answers on BVB and Kuba. Where I live, Borussia fans are considered like one of the best in the world. We heard how you saved your club, the big attendances when your team is playing, etc... ! That's why I choosed to ask you if you can answer. Thank you. Seba.

Just to mention it, as I´m sure you didn´t see it: We even have an English section (and a spanish one) for people to communicate with us in other languages. ;-) Means, if you know anybody to talk about BVB in English, here we are, no problem. Zitat von theogBVB welcome and have fun! i am curious about the questions sebastiano hat seine Fragen bereits beantwortet bekommen. - First, some words about Borussia for people who don't know much about your club. Before 2003, Borussia was not only a team with wonderful fans, but a very big team in Europe too. What happened ? --------- To say the truth and to make a very long story short: Borussia Dortmund was about to disappear! The (mis)management accumulated more than 100 million euros of debt at the end of 2004. It was a very dangerous situation for a club of a long tradition in german and international football. The new management is struggling since then and even till today to eliminate all those debt, consolidating the economy of the club. It may take another two or three years to be able to do that. Till that day, we have to live with a very limited budget, not being able to invest in expensive players. - "Kuba" arrived from Wisla Krakow in 2007. Since he plays for Borussia, is he a player appreciated by the fans ? (if "yes" or "no" : why ?) --------- Kuba is a very much appreciated player in Dortmund and always was. One reason are his qualities as a footballer obviously another reason is his open minded and friendly personality. You should hear the long "Kuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuubaaaaaaaa"-shouts on the pitch in the best stadium of the world (recently elected by "The Times"), when he touches the ball, and you would know exactly, what I am talking about. - What are its qualities and defects, on the ground ? ------------- Without any doubt his dribbling and his velocity are the main facts to mention in this case. On a good day he is able to get past anyone with the ball. Even the fans of Real Madrid asked me "And who the hell is that guy?" when the new faboulous team from the spanish capital visited our Westfalenstadion recently, celebrating the 100. birthday of Borussia Dortmund. Kuba really impressed them. - Do you think Kuba can be better ? Can he grow up at a better level ? ------------ Yes, he can. Especially in one aspect: regularity! Kuba till today is a very irregular player. He can be the superstar in one match and disappear in the next one. Not only for our club, as well for himself he needs to improve that. Any player has a bad day sometimes, but to become a real crack, Kuba has to improve his average on the pitch. There are still too many matches when he plays far below his abilities. - Borussia played the last derby against Schalke without several players, including Kuba. What happened exactly ? ---------------- This matter hurts. ;-) We played a really good match ... and lost it 0:1 with a lot of bad luck and some unfortunate referee decisions. But the main fact was, that some of our main players were not available, mentioning Kehl as the most important one (defensive midfield ball distributer). After that Dede and Kuba had no chance to play - Kuba because of a flu (Grippe), which frustrated him a lot, as you can imagine. - For the end : Ebi Smolarek played 2 years for Borussia. Recently, some rumours said that he could join Borussia Dortmund, but finally he should sign for Hambourg or Hertha. Do you think the arrival of Smolarek in your club could have be a good idea ? ------------ No, I don´t think so. We have a team of young and hungry players. Smolarek was a perfect addition to the BVB when he was playing 2005 - 2007. To me it would be a step back into past tense bringing him on again, especially as his performance in Santander and with the Bolton Wanderers (on loan) was far from being great. We now need to give Lucas Barrios a bit of time. This great center forward, being argentinian coming from Chile, should be the future main goal scorer together with Valdez, Zidan and in minor priority Rangelov. Barrios just needs some patience, but already scored important goals for us in the german cup. - Thank you for this interview ! We hope Borussia and Kuba will play a very good season ! ----------- Thanks for your good wishes, we need them. Borussia Dortmund had a terrible start into the new season after having played a very good one last year. I´m sure this unlucky period will come to en and now and Kuba will help us to get back where we were last year. Let me send kind regards to your readers at the end of this interview and to a fantastic country as Poland is. All the best to all of you! Whoever wants to talk about Borussia Dortmund is heartly invited to join our forumhttp://www.bvb-fanforum.de We even have an english and a spanish section for those who don´t speak german.
